Show Employment Service Ready Aid Veterans To Get lobs The United States Employment Service brings more than ten years of experience into its new assignment of finding jobs for physically handicapped veterans of World War II, Jay W. Oldroyd, Manager of the USES office in Manti, Utah, stated today. Pointing out that the number of civilian workers who become handicapped for jobs annually even the wartime military casualties cas-ualties resulting in occupational disability, Mr. Oldroyd said the USES has developed special selection se-lection and placement techniques for matching workers with the jobs they are able to perform and in which their physical impairment impair-ment is not an impediment on the job. "The Employment Service aims to select occupations to match the physical abilities of the applicant ap-plicant and to find jobs which the handicapped person can perform per-form despite the physical limitation," limita-tion," Mr. Oldroyd said. "With the USES given responsibilities in all communities for assisting veterans to find suitable employment, employ-ment, the only limit to our capacity capa-city for placing them will be the limitations placed by those who have jobs to offer." He invited all employers in Sanpete county to file specifications specifica-tions of their job opportunities with the USES at Manti, and to indicate a willingness to employ physically handicapped workers when such workers are qualified for the job. |
