Show Green Denounces Strikes "No matter what the provocation, provoca-tion, there can be no justification for the strike," declares William A. Green, President of the American Ameri-can Federation of Labor. Mr. Green took occasion to denounce de-nounce the strike wave that was apparnet throughout the country sometime ago, calling it "totally unjustified" and declaring that "none of them has had the approval ap-proval of the American Federation Federa-tion of Labor." It is encouraging to note that responsible labor leaders, throughout the nation, are openly open-ly denouncing strikes during the present emergency. This attitude on the part of the leaders also permeates the membership of most organized unions, despite the fact that, occasionally, uno-authorized uno-authorized strikes occur. We agree with Mr. Green that the strikes that have been so generously publicized by the radio and press are relatively unimportant when viewed a-gainst a-gainst the total picture of production pro-duction that has been achieved by labor throughout the war. |
