Show FOUNTAIN GREEN I By Special Correspondence I New Barbecue Pits Will Produce 5,000 Sandwiches For Lamb Day Mayor Lyman Seely, general chairman of Fountain Green's annual Lamb Day celebration, reports that the last "finishing touches" are being placed on ' Fountain Green's annual event. The barbecue pits are ready to produce 5,000 lamb sandwiches. These sandwiches will be made from choice lambs raised for this particular occasion. The parade promises to be the best ever. Floats with Queens from far and near will lead this spectacular parade as will several sev-eral bands from different communities. com-munities. The sports, under the direction of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, begins at 2 p. m. Every minute of their allotted time will be filled with amusements. The committee in charge of the Boxing Bouts are promising us something extraordinary in the fight line. The two dances on Aug. 12 and 13, with the Revelers Orchestra, will climax this great event. Everyone is invited to this celebration. Mr. Pershing Cook is convalescing convales-cing from an operation for appendicitis ap-pendicitis at the Dice hospital in Moroni. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Cook fell from the car in which he was riding Sunday afternoon af-ternoon and he received a bad cut on the head and bruises, but is much improved and his condition is not serious. Mrs. Orvilla Jacobsen and her daughter, Marilouise Hansen of Salt Lake City are spending a week's vacation at their home in Fountain Green. Mr. 'and Mrs. Perry Allred of McGill, Nevada were Fountain Green visitors Sunday. Mr. Ray Mikkelson has left for Flagstaff, Arizona where he will visit his brother, Elwin Mikkelson Mikkel-son and family. Miss Fern Jensen, who has employment em-ployment at Salt Lake City, visited vis-ited for a few days this week at her home in Fountain Green. Mrs. Erma Jensen and son of Moroni were Fountain Green visitors vis-itors Monday. Mrs. Ellen Yorgason of Lovell, Wyoming is visiting with relatives rela-tives and friends. Mrs. Yorgason was formerly of Foutain Green. Mr. C. B. Setter of International Falls, Minnesota visited recently with Mr. Robert Hansen at the Earl Hansen home. The two boys became pals during the Okinawa campaign of World War II. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bristol and children 8nd Mrs. Johanna Bristol Bris-tol of Pocatello, Idaho visited during the week with relatives in Fountain Green. Larsen Family Reunion The family of the late R. P. Larsen held their reunion at Salt Creek canyon Sunday, July 27th. Eighty-five descendants were present, also Mrs. R. P. Larsen, age 86 years, was among the group. A program of music, sports and feasting was greatly enjoyed by all present. Many people from Foutain Green attended the Centennial celebration on July 24th in Salt Lake City. Among them were: Mr. and Mrs. James L. Nielson, Mrs. Ada C. Anderson, Mrs. Minnie Min-nie Olsen, Mr. Leonard Oldroyd and family, Pharis Nielson and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Coombs. Mrs. Ina Holman of Montrose, Colorado and Mrs. Winifred John son of Salt Lake City are at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Cook. The mother is very ill atis time. |
