Show The Church Corner. . . - Stake And Ward Officers Will Attend Conference Annual Ward conference will be observed at the Mt. Pleasant 1 North ward chapel Sunday at i:30 p. m., it was announced this week by the bishopric of . the ward. Bishop F. D. Peterson, first ' counsellor, will conduct the session for which special music will be provided by the North ward choir under the direction oi George Squire. Expected to be in attendance at the conference are members of the Stake presidency, high council and members of other bishoprics in the stake. Present and former members of the ward are invited to attend at-tend the conference, Bishop Peterson Pe-terson stated. Thanksgiving Sermon Planned By Bollinger "Grateful Hearts" will be the Thanksgiving Sunday theme at morning worship services in the First Presbyterian Church. Radio Station KSVC will broadcast the morning meditations medita-tions of Rev. E. E. Bollinger Sunday at 9:00 a. m. The Junior High Westminster Fellowship activities at 7:30 p. m. will be directed by President Presi-dent Danny Brooks. Marilyn Oster will "lead the discussion on "Thanksgiving today." The Senior High Westminster Fellowship program, also at 7:30 p. m. will be announced by President Freddie Dart. Reports of the recent Youth Synod activities ac-tivities will be made by Cleo Yeager, delegate to the meetings at Logan. Wasatch Guild, the missionary organization of Presbyterian young people will meet Tuesday evening at 7:15 p. m. Cleo Yeager Yea-ger will lead the topic "European "Euro-pean Thanksgiving." Midweek Meditations will be directed by the minister Thursday Thurs-day evening at 7:30 p. m. at the manse. South Ward Will See Theme Dramatized Sun. The North Sanpete Seminary will present the program at Mt. Pleasant South ward sacrament sacra-ment services Sunday evening at 7:30 p. m. Announcement was made by O. B. Anderson, principal of the seminarv. Theme of the meeting will be "Truth Can Make Us Free," Principal Prin-cipal Anderson stated. The theme will be illustrated in drama form. Stanlev Anderson, student-bishop student-bishop of the seminary, will conduct con-duct the meeting. ' Scout Organization ' Activated At Moroni The Moroni district, Utah National Na-tional Parks Council. Boy Scouts of America, has been organized for an active leadership training train-ing program with the fo! lowing officers in charge: Milton Arn-oldsen, Arn-oldsen, district committee chairman; chair-man; Monte Neilsen, vice rhair-man: rhair-man: Pat Barney, commissioner: Urwin Morley, ieadership training: train-ing: John Anderson, finance: Horace Magleby, health and safety; Jay Nelson, camping; Lgon Lund, organization; Monte Neilsen, advancement chairman. W. A. Student Given High Post In Youth Synod Miss Freddie Dart of Myton, Utah, senior at Wasatch Academy, Acad-emy, was elected Moderator of conference held in Logan Saturday, Satur-day, November 13. Miss Dart was accompanied by nine other members of the junior jun-ior and the senior high Westminster West-minster Fellowship organizations organiza-tions of the Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant: Cleo Yeager. Ruth Davenport, Everett Vander-stoop, Vander-stoop, Dan McAlpine, Gloria and Mary Jensen, Danny Brooks, Nada McBeth, and Wilma Bloom. The Mt. Pleasant group presented pre-sented a worship service at the afternoon session. Mrs. John Browne, sponsor for the senior high group, also attended the meeting, as did Miss Ruth Hacking Hack-ing and Franklin Elser, who drove cars to Logan. MIA Group Plan Fireside Sunday The Gleaner Girls and M-Men from the Mt. Pleasant North and South wards will hold a Fireside Sunday evening immediately imme-diately after sacrament services, it was announced this week. Featured speaker will be Arthur O. Nielsen, stake patriarch. patri-arch. The program will also include a reading by Joe Jensen, according to Von Ell Larson, in charge of arrangements. The Fireside will be conducted con-ducted at the J. W. Winkelman home. Golden Gleaners To Be Honored Tuesday A North Sanpete Stake Golden Gleaner Comradery will be conducted con-ducted at the Mt. Pleasant South ward Relief Society rooms Tuesday evening follwing MIA preliminary exercises. Honored will be Roxy Washburn Wash-burn and Esther Peel who are the stake's two recipients of the highly-treasured Golden Gleaner Glean-er award. The program will include a motion picture and refreshments. refresh-ments. Stake Gleaner supervisors are Mrs. Louise Johansen and Mrs. Lil?. Dunn. Guardians Give Program The MIA Guardian class a' the Mt. Pleasant South ward enjoyed the following program at their most recent meeting. Opening prayer. Marion Neil-son; Neil-son; play practice; lesson on a I hero of the Book of Mormon and closing prayer, Ramona Woolsey. Under the direction of Dr. C B. Madsen and Mrs. Lione Za-I Za-I briskie, public health nurse ! assisted by Mrs. Delbert Johan-j Johan-j sen, president of the South Ward Relief Society, a clinic for ' children ranging in age from three months to six years wa? held Tuesday in the South Ward Relief Society hall. Immunizations Im-munizations were given for diphtheria, smallpox, tetanus and whooping cough. |
