Show Committee Is Instructed To Dig Up The Facts About City Sewage Charged with making a thor- , ough study of plans for a sesv-age sesv-age svstem In Mt. ' Pleasant, a committee of 10 prominent citizens citi-zens was this week appointed by Mayor S. M. Nielsen. Named chairman of the committee com-mittee was Joseph Matson. Other Oth-er members are H. C. Jacobs, Ralph Gunn, Dr. G. B. Madsen. Justus O. Seely, J. H. Stansfield. Grant Johansen, Stanley Peterson, Peter-son, C. T. Madsen and Daniel Ras'mussen. Sewage plans which the committee com-mittee will study are those outlined by the engineering firm of Caldwell, Richards and Sor- ensen. Preliminary plans are at present in the possession of the city council. A final draft ls to be furnished by the engineering engi-neering firm before January 1, 1949, Mayor Nielsen said. The survey svhich the engineering firm undertook under contract svith the city is being paid for under a federal grant. Survey-cost Survey-cost will become part of the sesvage system costs if, and when, a sewer is constructed, it was explained. After the committee has made it's study, it is to make recommendations recom-mendations to the city council, according to the mayor's charge. |
