Show I Farmers Will Make War On Rodents The fall of the year is a very good time to put out poison carrots car-rots to control gophers, according to Elmer H. Gibson, County Agricultural Agri-cultural Agent. These rodents do much damage during the winter to alfalfa fields and ditches. ditch-es. They burrow through the ground and cut off the tap root plants and theerby destroy them. This loss can be averted by putting put-ting out small pieces of carrots cut z inch in diameter by IVi inches long and poison with strychnine. A representative of the Biological Bio-logical Survey will meet farmers according to the schedule indicated indi-cated below and will poison carrots car-rots furnished by the farmers free of chrage. Instructions and demonstrations wijl also be conducted con-ducted as to the proper methods of using this poison bait. Everyone having gopher infestations in-festations are invited and .urged to participate in this program. Destroying these rodents is one of the very effective ways of producing more for Victory.
