Show HAMILTON SCHOOL GATHERS IN SCRAP On Monday, September 28th,. it was announced by the Principal Prin-cipal of the Hamilton School, Mr. Verl E. Johansen, that there would be a scrap metal drive for the school. On the morning of September 2Sth there was not a thing on the ground where the scrap was to be piled, but twelve pegs, one for each grade section. But at noon of that day there were small piles of scrap and they grew steadily from that time on until the end of the contest. The scrap drive lasted four days, ending on Friday, Oct. 2. The piles were judged and the Sixth grade section No. 2 won the coveted honor. The pupils of the winning section are: Harold Winkler, Jimmie Draper, Devere Menzies, Bert Woolsey, Junior Hill, Melvin Lund, Joseph Jensen, Jen-sen, Duane Hughes, Blain Olsen, Jay Shepherd, Lavor Coates, Charles Rowe, Lievier Stoddard, Frankie Jorgensen, Von Ell Larsen, Lar-sen, Claudeal Simons, Thora Draper, Beth Woolsey, Lora Johansen, Jo-hansen, Joanne Truscott, Mary Lou Pritchett, La June Allred, Madge Perry, Maxine Richards, Dona Anderson, and La Von Christensen. J. Reed Noyes is their teacher. The entire school gathered scrap enthusiastically and the pupils were treated to a peanut bust by the faculty. |
