Show I MORONI I By Spoclal Correspondence Mrs. KUabcth Christensen of Mt. Pleasant visited last Wednesday Wed-nesday with Mrs. Venice Anderson Ander-son at Moroni. The following young women of Moroni have organized a club-, club-, Valota Hardy, Theresa Dickinson, .tiladys l'uey, Bessie Lund, An- 1,a Cloward, Krma Clownrd, Fran-cine Fran-cine Murley, and Denelce Mad-sen. Mad-sen. Valeta Hardy was hostessi at the first meeting. Members of the Stake Presidency, Presi-dency, Ward Bishoprics, High, Council ami Patriarch of the Moroni Mo-roni Stake were in attendance at the Cieneral Conference held in Salt Lake City last week end. Boyd Harris of Salt Lake City spent last week end with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bailey in this city. Mrs. J. S. Prestwich and sons Sheldon and Ramon of Cedar City visited last week at the home of James Trestwich. The Ladies Literary club met Wednesday night at the home of Anna Robertson. Business matters mat-ters were taken care of and the following officers were re-elected: Grace Westenscow, president; presi-dent; Olive Blackham, secretary; secre-tary; Margaret Childs, reporter; Fern Jensen and Donna Anderson, Ander-son, program committee. Musical Musi-cal numbers were given by Pearl Christensen. Mrs. J. S. Prestwich Prest-wich of Cedar City was a special guest. West Ward Primary officers and teachers met at the home of President Anna Robertson on Monday night. The lesson was given by Afton Anderson after which refreshments were served. Miss Agnes Prestwich is home for a month after spending the summer in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Bailey, Mrs. Thomas Bailey and Mrs. Cleon Anderson were Salt Lake visitors last week. Paul Bailey returned home with them to visit vis-it a few days before leaving for service in the Coast Guard. The following former Moroni people spent the week end visiting visit-ing here: Mr. and Mrs. Jay Sanderson of American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Morley of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Kendall of Magna. A dancing social for members of the M. I. A. of both wards was held Tuesday niyht. A good crowd was in attendance. On Wednesday, Sept. 30 Bishop Bish-op Ephraim Nelson was honored on his birthday by members of his family. Fifteen guests were oresent, among whom were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burton of Salt Lake City, Jay and Earl Nelson of Moroni and their families. On Saturday night a farewell dance was held for the following follow-ing boys who will enter the armed arm-ed forces from Moroni: Arthell Bailey, Morris Dahl, Allen Faux, Paul Bailey, Montell Blackham, Leo Cloward, Oscar Cloward, Max Christensen, Lynn Monson, Douglas Doug-las Bradley, Maiben Christensen, Richard Jacobson, Wren Syme, and Niel Hansen. The M. H. Club met at the home of Mary Jane Blackham on Thursday. The time was spent in sewing after which refreshments refresh-ments were served. Macel Tid-well Tid-well was a special guest. The Book of the Month club members were entertained Monday Mon-day night at the home of Mrs. Marion Jolly of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Helena S. Olsen was honored hon-ored tin the occasion of her birthday, birth-day, Oct. 2 by friends and neighbors. neigh-bors. The Singing Mothers visited visit-ed her and sang several numbers. She received many gifts and good wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blackham and. family were Salt Lake City visitors on Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. They made the trip to meet Fred Guymon, who has just returned re-turned from the East Central States Mission. Miss Glenda Nielson is home, having returned from a mission in the Western States. Mr and Mrs. Rodney Anderson and Donna Anderson were week end visitors in Salt Lake City. Mr Alva Sorensen of Manti is a patient at the Dice Hospital, following a minor operation on October 5th. , A party at the home of Ethelyn Anderson was held Sunday night in honor of Leo Cloward, who is leaving for service in the Armed Forces. A turkey dinner was served to four couples. Mrs. Hattie Ames visited last week with relatives in Provo and SPMr,grnd'Mrs. Clifford Bradley are living in the home of Mrs. Alice Nunley. |
