Show Hi News From Around Utah J A PROCLAMATION nV THE GOVERNOR Of , I ?HE STATE OF UTAH i whereas, this is the secoin' ' ve'ir of peace which our beloved country has enjoyed, since tlu armies of our enemies from . without have been scattered t the four winds and their navio j have been scuttled and sunk l I and Whereas, this is the first year pf our unified command system, sys-tem, and Whereas, the navy is a pow-ei pow-ei ful unit of the unified com-mand com-mand within which at far-filing far-filing stations and aboard ship on all the waters of the globe the men of the United Stat-s Navy stand ready to safeguard freedom, so dearly won in the late conflict, and to protect ouri national Independence, and Whereas, thousands of man and women of this state have I served and now are serving j with the forces of the United Slates Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps, and Whereas, the people of this state wish to express their gratitude grati-tude and sense of obligation to this distinguished branch of our armed forces, Now, therefore, I, Herbert IS Maw, Governor of the State of Utah, do hereby set aside and proclaim the 27th day of October, Octo-ber, 1948, as "NAVY DAY a day to signalize the tribute of the people of the State of Utah to the men and ships of the United States Navy.
