Show Jealous Jays On either side of the ocean blue, there swarms a large and motly crew of Jealous Jays who make a stew of every thiny you say or do. If you should get a new sedan, a pretty coat or hat of tan, they re-dicule re-dicule you all they can; or if you save a little dough, straightway their tales begin to flow. You must have got it so and so. Or even say ; you write a verse that's witty, sensible and terse, at once they say it can't be worse. They kill the thing they cannot do, and mutilate your motive, too, that . you have striven to make come true. It seems as if they have the knack of keeping in the climbers track and weave the ropes to hold you back, For goodness sake, mind what you say' Don't clutter up another's way! Don't be a pesky Jealous Jay! GRACE. |
