Show Farmers Meet on Wheat Plans Name Committees, Hear Allotment Al-lotment Plans Explained in Detail by Experts Wednesday, August 16th, tha wheat farmers of the Moroni and Fairview districts met in their first district eetmgs relative to the wheat production control programs. The meetings were called at the instance of J. Earl Palmer, Agricultural Agri-cultural assistant of District 3. County Agent A. E. Smith of Juab and C. O. Stott of the U. S. A. C. faculty were in attendance. The salient facts of the wheat prograia were presented. Mr. Smith discussed the wheat situation of the world and by means cf charts and statistics showed that the plan now advocated in the National Na-tional .Recovery program was not only an advantage to wheat growers but imperative for their continuation continua-tion in the business. Mr. Palmer discussed the working mechanism of the wheat allotment plan and explained ex-plained how the allotment and adjustment ad-justment payments t0 farmers ae determined. By the actual figures of farmers relative to their acreage and production for the past five years, Mr. Palmer stated that it will be a decided advantage from a monetary standpoint in the wheat reduction program, and fanners could feel that they had done theii part in the National Recovery Program. Pro-gram. Mr. Stott discussed the various plans of calculating allotments. He explained that if the County Allotment Allot-ment Committees adopt the standard stand-ard three-year plan, then by meanj cf the adjustment factor, as applied to individuals of the county, the average of the individual farms of the county should be the same as if a five-year average were taken. Also in adopting- a three year plan, individual adjustments could be maae in the event of hail, fire, floods, etc. destroying the crop. Buc the speaser explained that where a county adopts a four or five-year average, then no individual excep- t.tnnR pan h( maHd The following were elected on the committees: Moroni district, whirl-, also includes Wales, Freedom, Jerusalem, Jeru-salem, elected Soren Nielson, Moroni, Mo-roni, chairman; N. L. Edmunds of Walts and Lee Taylor of Freedom as committeemen. The Fairview district, which includes in-cludes Fail-view, Milburn, and Indianola, In-dianola, E. A. Madsen, chairman; George Peterson, T. R. Graham, Laurence Allred as committeemen. District meetings of County will be held as fast as consistent. The purpose is t0 familiarize every wheat farmer with the facts concerning con-cerning the wheat allotment plan. Mr. Palmer states that in general, farmers are accepting the plan wholeheartedly. ' It must be remembered that whether whe-ther farmers exject to enter the plan or not, that they shall be expected ex-pected to file with the government crap acreages and production for the past five years.
