The evidence evi-dence indicates that progress alons this line is being made. Disregarding government pay-ments pay-ments to farmers under various plans the record shows significant advances in agriculture prices duv-- the past twelve months. Wheat, corn oats and cctton prices are from sixtv to one hundred per cent higher. Nearly every commodity -hews progress upward, which means nitre mcnev for farmers to spend. Tha business of this valley being hu-ge.lv dependent upon the purchasing pur-chasing power of the farmers, is due to pick up in the spring, aside from CWA and other factors. The fall should prevent further gains as farmers gradually overcome debt liabilities and use their surpluses for buying. |
