Show Snow College Notes Miss Lucille Hansen of Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant gave a review of Eugene O'N'-il's "Strange Interlude" at a meeting of the, Sigma Delta Chi, dramatic club on Jan. 31st. Two vocal solos by Miss Phyllis Holman of Mount Pleasant were the feature of the musical program. Miss Theo Erickson of Moroni gave a report on "International Problems," at the weekly meeting of the International Relations last week. H. A. Dean, instructor of music at Snow college announces that the annual school opera, "The Pirates of Penzance" has been postponed from February 15 to February 21 bncaure of a conflict with the basket ball schedule. Snow college became leader in the Utah State Junior College basketball ls ague last Friday and Sautrday by defeating Dixie college twice at St. George. The first game showed that the two teams were fairly evert-' ly matched, Snow edging out a 45-43 victory. However, the second game was clearly superior and won by 34-43 margin. Snow rests this week but will con tinue her drive for the championship champion-ship on February 15 and 16 In a two-game series with Westminster at Ephraim. Commcrieal Contest Slated Mount Pleaisant and Moroni High schools have been invited to enter a district and county commercial contest to be held at Snow college on March 7th. Contestants from Sanpete, Sevier, Millard and Juab counties will compete in typewriting, bookkeeping and shorthand. Both district and county winners will be decided. This is the second year the contest has been held at Snow. Last year, approximately 125 students stu-dents registered for the contest. Tndicaions point to an increased attendance at-tendance this year. |
