Show SPRING CITY Bt Special Correspondence Mrs. G-orge W. Grismore of Salt Lake City vWted the early part ol the week with her brother, Lyman Frandsen. who is ill at his home. Mis Ruth Sylvester of Eureka has b en a guest the past two weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Strate. Mr. and Mrs. Orsen P. Hansen returned home Saturday of the past week from a vi-lt with their daughters daugh-ters in Salt Lake and Tremonton. Mrs. K nnf-th Shields, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orson P. Hansen, was operated upon for appendicitis ap-pendicitis at the Dee hospital ir. Morcni on Monday of the pa-i week and taken on Saturday to the home of her par nts, where she is slowly recovering. Latest reports are that she is recovering from the painful effocta Mrs. Clara Nunley, who with her children, is spending the winter in th" Capital city, came home to visit a few days last week. Hyrum Larsen and son of Provo were business visitors at Sprteg City the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Harvy Hansen and children of Ogden motored to Spring City ta visit tly.ir parents. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hansen and Mrs. Lizzie Watson this week. Mrs. Joseph Downard has gone to Manti to visit with her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Jensen and family. Miss Margaret Bunnell spent Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday at Spring City with her mother. Mrs. Otto J. Sorensen entertained at a dinner Saturday to a number of relatives and friends, it being her birthday. Fred Puzey of Canada came here to visit with his aged mother, Mrs. Lydia Puzey and other relatives in Spring City. Mr. Puzey is farming on a large scale In Canada and reports re-ports conditions there better than in Utah, especially Sanpete county, as there is no control for growing wheat and hogs in Canada. Mrs. Almlna Pederson, who was very ill with pryumonia, is now improving im-proving slowly. There are still several cases of pneumonia in Spring City and some homes here the whole family has been down with the flu. Ross Neff returned Wednesday from a two-weeks trip to California. The Daughters of Utah Pioneers held thoir monthly mooting in the music room of the Junior High school. Monday. Sunday eventing a Scout Court f Honor was held in the ward chapel. A number of badges were given. The Spring City Junior High School Art classes, under the direction di-rection of Mi'-s Helen May Van Cott, were asked to send an exbbit of their art work to th Brigham Young University, to be shown during dur-ing Leader-hip week. The exhibit, consisting of twenty-two twenty-two posters, thirty sheets of mounted mount-ed material, and ten framed water color studies, together with five of Miss Van Cott's paintings, was tent an is on exhibit'on now at Provo. The Spring City art students are entering the Interactional Poste, contest for the third time, and mev hope to add to the prizes already gained from previous contests. |
