AA-'yj; ijV i SEH HO HENDERSON Korean bride Korean Bride to Send Clothes To Family, Friends Seh Ho Park Henderson is an intelligent, black-eyed, olive-skinned young lady resident of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. She came here five months ago as the bride of Ber-nice Ber-nice Henderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Henderson. The young people' were married mar-ried at the American Embassy at Seoul, South Korea, where young Mr. Henderson was a serviceman ser-viceman in the U.S. Army. Seh Ho was bom in Chung - Num, South Korea. At the age of 16 she entered the Buddhist Temple and spent 6 years receiving receiv-ing a religious and secular education. edu-cation. After attending school in the temple she returned home and later spent three months in an Army Chaplain's home, where she first learned of Jesus Christ and the Christian God. She remembers when as a child -she took refuge in bomb shelters during World War II. "We were very grateful when the American soldiers came, because they did not dominate us like the Japanese did," Seh Ho said. She also told of her brother being forced into the Communist Commun-ist army at bayonet point after fleeing to another Korean area. Nothing has been heard of him since. Neither has any word been received from her sister who fled to China to esoape the Communists. Commun-ists. Seh Ho is currently enjoying the luxury of the automobile, electricity elec-tricity and the numerous household house-hold appliances. Since coming here, she has learned to use the typewriter and is currently studying study-ing English at an adult class in Provo, preparatory to application applica-tion for her citizenship papers. During the ravages of the recent re-cent Hurricane Sarah, the Korean . area where Seh Ho's family lives was severely devasated. Seh Ho's kinfolk and others in the Chung Num area are in dire need of any type of warm clothing cloth-ing for the fast approaching winter. win-ter. An appeal is hereby made to the kind hearted people of the Pleasant Grove area to donate any serviceable used clothing for this puipose. The clothing may be left at Allen's IGA Market and should be brought in as soon as possible. |
