Show City Budget First Stem on Agenda At Council Session Wrestling with the complexities complex-ities and problems of the I960 city budget occupied most of the time- at the regular City Council meeting held Monday night in the city hall. According to Mayor Burton H. Adams, council members are making a sincere effort to trim the city expenditures to match the anticipated revenues. "Some citizens have recommended recommend-ed that we trim the fat from the 1960 budget. But that's rather rath-er difficult, when no fat actually exists," the Mayor said. Seriously however, he stated that some trimming will be nec-. essary if the city lives within its income during the coming year. The proposed "Dog Ordinance" was considered in detail and approved. ap-proved. Following clearing up by the City Attorney, the ordinance will be published in an early issue is-sue of the Review. Newly elected Councilman Clifford Clif-ford Hales, Read O. Walker and Paul Fordham were present at Monday night's meeting for ob-sei-vation and briefing on the wheres and wherefores of city business. They expressed appreciation apprec-iation for the courtesy extended, whioh will assist them in their official of-ficial duties after January 1. |
