Show Cadmus Members Hear Artists at Recent Meeting Paul Salisbury, renouned Provo artist and Glen Pratt, popular Or-em Or-em organist, were guests cf the Cadmus Club at the February -regular meeting held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Arza Adams in Manila. The two artists stimulated interest in-terest in p.iinting and music as a means of creative expression for everyone. Mr. Salisbury challenged the members and their invited lady guests to paint or at least learn to appreciate great works of creative art. He displayed the work of his students in order to show the results re-sults of a worthy and genuine interest in-terest culminating in a satisfying interest. He also showed a- f ew paintings of his own with descriptive descrip-tive comments. Mr. Pratt praised the organ as a medium for expressing mood and originality combined to pro-, vide a creative outlet. He displayed display-ed the versatility of the organ in order to acquaint his listeners with all the distinct and varied tones possible on the instrument. He demonstrated how the reed, string and wind sections of the orchestra can be almost perfectly simulated. Mrs. Keith Miller, club president, presi-dent, conducted business matters and read a letter of thanks from Mrs. Wesley J.- Beck, Pleasant Grove's 1960 Mother of the Year. Mrs. Leslie Cromar assisted Mrs. Adams as co-hostess in the serving of refreshments. . |
