Show Swimming Pools Discussed at Special City Council Meeting Swimming- pools occupied the major part of the attention of the Mayor and Councilman at the special meeting held Monday nigtit at the city hall, according to Mayor Burton H. Adams. Headed by Eleroy H. West, a.s chairman, members of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove swimming pool com- mittee met with the city council to present detailed plans of the proposed project and discuss possible pos-sible sites for the facility. According to Mayor Adams the most preferred site is the one at Third South and Locust Avenue. This property may be secured from the Alpine School District on a 99-year lease or a trade for other city property. R. W. Bradford and son Bill filed fil-ed a request for a building permit to remodel and "re-vitaliz" the Alpine Villa Motel. The plan includes in-cludes a new centrally located swimming pool, a modern canopy over the entrance to the office, widening of the approach to the motel and fnodernizing the fronts of the motel units. The. Bradfords' request was favorably fa-vorably received and referred to the planning commission for special spec-ial consideration Wednesday night. |
