Will leave on mission David Christensen To Leave for LDS Mission Field Missionary farewell services honoring hon-oring Elder David A. Christensen will be held in the First-Fifth Ward Chapel Sunday evening, Oct.. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Bishop Welby Gammon will be in charge of the testimonial. According to Bishop Gammon the program will be under the' direction of the Fifth Ward missionary mis-sionary committee, Mrs. Lela R. Banks, Mrs. Sytha Johnson and Warren P. Kirk. The program is as follows. Prelude and postlude music, Colleen Col-leen Marrott; Opening song, "How Firm a Foundation, congregation. Invocation, Dean A. Christensen; sacrament song "O God the Eternal Eter-nal Father" and sacrament administered admin-istered by John Dinebaugh and David Harmer. Piano solo, Annette Carter and a talk by J. Orval Ellsworth. Vocal solo, Warren Kirk, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Kirk. Remarks, parents of missionary; Response by missionary; and remarks re-marks by Bishop Gammon. Closing song "God Be With You and benediction by Boyd Warnick. David A. Christensen, who will leave soon for the Mission Home in Salt Lake City and from there to the Swiss-German Mission was born in Provo. He is the son, of Ertmann H. and Bemice Vance Christensen. He attended the local schools, and graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary with the class of 1954. While in high school he was prominent in music and speech activities, his special instrument being the violin. Since completing high school he has attended the BYU for two years, where he has been an active member of the University Symphony Sym-phony Orchestra and Male Chorus. Always interested in church activities, ac-tivities, David has served as secretary sec-retary of the Deacons and President Presi-dent of the Teachers Quorums of the Fifth Ward. He has also served serv-ed as chorister of the ward MIA and Sunday School. |
