Walsers A farewell testimonial will be held in the Lindon Ward Chapel Sunday evening October 14 at 5:30 p.m. honoring Elder and Mrs. A. W. Walser prior to their departure for the LDS Mission home and later lat-er to the Southwest Indian Mission field. The services will be under the direction of Bishop Orval C. Bawden of the Lindon Second Ward. The Sunday evening program Is as follows: Opening song "Let Zion in Her Beauty Rise," congregation; Prayer, Pray-er, Walter Walser. Sacrament Song, "Behold the Great Redeemer Die," congregation. congrega-tion. Piano and organ music by Helen and Melba Walser. Talk, William Smith, followed by a double trio, by the Walser girls. Talk, Asenath Walser, and a vocal solo, Susie Nell Walser. Talk by A. W. Walser and the closing talk by Bishop Bawden. Closing song by the Singing Mothers and prayer by Kenneth Walser. Alma W. Walser was born in Midway, Utah, the son of the late John Jacob and Mary Louise Frieshknect Walser. The family moved to Old Mexico in 1889. Mr. Walser left Old Mexico in 1909 and came to Miami, Arizona, where he was employed for four or five years. He returned to Old Mexico during the Mexican Revolution Rev-olution and lived there until 1917, when he was called on an LDS (Mission to the Western States. Following his mission he returned return-ed to Mexico and lived there until 1919. He then went to Chandler, Arizona and from there to El Paso, Texas, where he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad from 1922 until his retirement in 1953. He came to Lindon April 1, 1953 and the family have lived there since that time. In January 1917 he married the fcimer Asenath Skowsen in Col-onia, Col-onia, Juarez, Mexico. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. In addition to filling a fulltime mission, Mr. Walser has served in the Sunday School, genealogical committee, two stake missions and other ward capacities. Mrs. Walser was born in Colonia, Juarez. Mexico, the daughter of Daniel and Melvina Skousen. She has been active in the Sunday Schools, the Relief Society presidency, presi-dency, the Primary presidency, the MIA and as a stake missionary in Timpanogos Stake. |
