Show Ensigns, Laurels Hold Programs Last Wednesday Ensigns and Laurels of the Timpanogos Stake held their programs pro-grams at the Stake House in separate sep-arate meetings last Wednesday evening. The Laurels observed their Sacred to Me Night. Laurel president Pauline Young conducted. After the opening song invocation was offered by Janet Hahn and was followed by a Clarinet duet, by Gwen Phillips Phil-lips and Gloria Gaines. Elsie Ringger, stake Laurel leader, introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Hyrum Andrus of the BYU. Following his talk the closing number was sung by a girls double trio. Booklets were presented by Wanda Blackhurst, stake YW-MIA YW-MIA president and Merle Armit-stead, Armit-stead, counselor. Benediction was "pronounced by Kathleen Carlson. At the Engsign program, stake Ensign president Dan Adams was in charge. The theme was "A Personal Standard" night. Invocation was offered by Martin Mar-tin Monson and the outline of the Ensign program was given by Blake Fordham. Swedish folk songs were sung by Uwe J. Hanson and Herbert Gilbert, stake YMMIA superintendent superin-tendent introduced the speaker, Dr. Robert C. Patch of the BYU. Closing number was sung by a male quartet, Ben West, Lee Gillman, John Lott and Jimmy Pyper. Benediction was pronounced pronoun-ced by Roland Haycock. After the close of the formal programs, the Laurels and Ensigns En-signs joined in a social hour and refreshments. Around 250 people, Laurels, Ensigns and their parents, par-ents, enjoyed the evening. |
