Show Army Reserve Unit in Pi. Grove Seeks Young Men to Enlist The US Army Reserve Center, 140 West Center, Pleasant Grove, announced today that 'the Army Reserve enlistment program has been opened for qualified young men in two categories: high school seniors between 17 and 18 y2 years of age and young men between 18 and 25. The six months active duty program for young men 18 to 25 has a few quotas available. Young men enlisting under this program must begin their active duty training either in January or February, 1960. After completing com-pleting the six months active duty phase, the young man returns re-turns to his home and completes his military obligation with his home town reserve unit. Perhaps more important is the unlimited enlistment quota now available for high school seniors between the ages of 17 and 182-This 182-This program permits the high school senior to enlist now, while in school, and 'guarantees that he will nt be called to active duty until after graduation. Normally, Nor-mally, these young men are called call-ed for their six months active duty training within 120 days after af-ter graduation from high school. By enrolling under this plan the young man considering college col-lege or employment training assures as-sures himself of having his active ac-tive duty military obligation out of the way prior to school enrollment en-rollment or employment. He is assured, barring a national emergency, em-ergency, of completing his college or employment training without intenijption for military training. train-ing. Young men enlisted under either eith-er of these programs receives one days pay for each drill they attend with their unit. In addition, addi-tion, the time spent with the unit un-it prior to active duty training is deducted from the overall military mili-tary obligation of the individual. Opportunities for training in a civilian or military specialty are unlimited. And, for the young man with ambition, promotion is rapid. Th? Army Resei-ve Center is open on drill nights only.
