Show V I EC I N G VIGNETTES by Karen Fugal The Journalism Class has organized or-ganized the staff for the school paper, "Ye Viking Crieir." The paper will be printed once a week and will be sold for five cents a copy. Roger Fordham was elected elec-ted editor; Mike Johnson, assistant assist-ant editor; Wayne Betts, sports editor; Karen Fugal, social editor; edi-tor; Robert Jones, business manager; man-ager; Kathryn Croft, exchange editor; Annette Harper, reporter; and Marilyn Nelson, Mary Beck and Pauline Young, directors. V-V The cast for the school play has been chosen. The play, "Rebel "Reb-el Without a Cause," will be presented pre-sented on Dec. 10. Judges for the tryouts were William Anderson, Donald Clark, Maud Jacobs, Afra Nelson, and Ida Pierpont. Wednesday a Veterans Day Assembly As-sembly was presented to the stu-dentbody. stu-dentbody. The colors were presented pre-sented by Karyn Stevens, Kathryn Kath-ryn Croft and Judy Robertson. David Shoell gave a short talk on the meaning of Veterans Day. Sheila Anderson sang "My Own America" and the choir, band and orohestra also participated. Steven Walker, studentbody president, pres-ident, presided over the assembly. V-V Last Friday the Book of Mormon Mor-mon class had a waffle breakfast break-fast at the Stake House. Everyone Every-one had more than their fill of waffles. After such a breakfast they were ready for a big school day. It at least satisfied them until noon. V-V The FHA members met Tuesday Tues-day to make plans for their annual an-nual Sweater Swing. The annual dance will be held on Dec. 4. Co-chairmen Co-chairmen for the laffair are Paulette Paul-ette Johnson and Marianna Smith. Kathryn Croft, Sherrie Warburton, Joyce Swenson, Earl-ene Earl-ene Giles, LuJean Southam, and Gail Fugal are in charge of decorations decor-ations and the orchestra. Other committees are Mary Beck, Marilyn Nelson and Cathy Covington, advertising; Jean Hill-man, Hill-man, publicity; Linda Carson and Karen Fugal, assembly; Nadine Mitchell and Roberta Camp, tickets; tic-kets; and Joyce Davis, Pamela Phipps, Gwen Phillips, and Annette Ann-ette Harper, programs. Betty Lou Reay was elected as the new chapter historian. |
