WALKER (Karen Swenson) Newlyweds are Hosted by Parents At Reception in Manila Ward Sept. 7 One of the vsry fine and enjoyable en-joyable affairs of the late summer sum-mer was the reception hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Leland Swenson in the Manila Ward House on Wednesday evening, honoring their daughter Karen and Robert J. Walker, who were recently man-led. The hall itself was a fairyland, carrying out an autumn theme of gold and brown and gorgeous fall flowers. The young couple received relatives rel-atives and friends before a white background, enhanced with brown and gold and harmonizing late summer blooms. The lovely bride greeted relatives rela-tives and friends in a gown of the bridegroom's sister, Marda Walker. All wore gold sheaths and held harmonizing nosegays. Lynn Walker, brother of the groom, and Jimmie Swenson, the brother of the bride shared best man duties, while another brother, broth-er, Lyman Swenson, ushered. Also assisting the bridal party in the lineup were their parents. Mr. & Mrs. Max Ferre greeted guests at the door and Leanne Hooley and Louise Wilcox attended attend-ed to the guest registration while Hal Haycock furnished background back-ground music throughout the evening. ev-ening. Mrs. J. L. Theobald of Salt Lake City, aunt of the groom, cared for and arranged the lovely gift display. She was assisted by Joann Butt, Anne- Rowley, Kay Holman and Judy Allen while gift bearers were Russell , Boyer, Linda Lin-da Walker 'and Mary Swenson.
