Elaine Cannon To Conduct "Seminary For Sallies" In American Fork Thurs. Nov. 1 All teen age girls and their mothers in the Lehi Stake are invited in-vited to join in the popular "Seminar for Sallies" to be conducted con-ducted in the Alpine Stake tabernacle taber-nacle in American Fork, next Thursday, November 1. The big affair will begin at 7:30 p. m. Tickets may be obtained from ward MIA officers, but if you do not have a ticket come anyway, is stressed. This will be the only Seminar held in Utah County this year and it is an unusual opportunity to obtain the timely and very appealing ap-pealing advice on grooming and development of charm and worthwhile worth-while personal traits offered by Mrs. Cannon and her staff. Elaine Cannon, teen age columnist column-ist for the Deseret News and her fellow colmunist, Winifred Jar-dine, Jar-dine, authority on cooking and foods, will both be present. They will be accompanied by a staff larger than last year's efficient group, in conducting demonstrations. demon-strations. Both Mrs. Cannon and Mrs. Jardine are members of the General Board of the MIA. Models From Lehi According to Mrs. Evelyn Larson, MIA Stake President, there will be 16 models from Lehi who will appear on the stage this year. They will wear their own clothing cloth-ing and will depict the various types of dress, for school, street, sports and evening wear. Dinner Party Honors Birthday Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jense prepared pre-pared a bounteous turkey dinner at their home in Tibbie Fork on Oct. 21. The gala affair complimented the birthday anniversary of their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gary Jense. Seated at the lavish board were Gary and Sara and their children, Wesley and Lana, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Allred and daughter Kath-ie, Kath-ie, Mrs. Clara Webb and Mr. and Mrs. James R. Atkinson and daughter Carol of Salt Lake City, and the host and hostess. Political Theme To Be Followed Appropriate at the present time before election, the political theme will be followed. The girls and their mothers will receive timely hints on all phases of a girl's life, etiquette, behavior, grace and charm. The seminar was highly success-, ful last year, with a capacity audience audi-ence attending from the three stakes. It is expected that this year's event will be as popular. Ora Chipman, counselor coun-selor in the Alpine Stake MIA organization, is in charge of arrangements, ar-rangements, Lehi, Alpine and Timpanogos Stakes are combining for the event. Gorden Club To Meet Friday, November 2 Pleasant Grove Garden Club will meet on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 with Mrs. William Freeman at her home in Manila. All members are urged to be |
