Show Timpanogos Stake Quarterly Conference Held Last Sunday First general session of the Timpanogos Stake Conference opened Sunday morning Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. President Boyd L. Fugal presiding and conducting, with Elder Walter Stover of the General Welfare, representing the general authorities. Opening number was singing- by the congregation. Former Stake Presidente Merrill N. Warnick offered of-fered the invocation. First speaker was President Fugal, Fu-gal, who delivered his first conference con-ference message as President of the stake. He was followed by two returned missionaries, Lloyd Thayne and Norma Church, who in turn were followed by Bishop Karl Butler and Bishop Lewis Harmer. Business of presenting and sustaining sus-taining church officers was conducted con-ducted by Stake Clerk Boyd Seely. Retiring officers of the Stake Y. W. M. I. A. were also called to speak. They were Ruby Fugal, Louie Gillman and Faye Belliston. Concluding- speaker was Elder Walter Stover, representing the general authorities. Special music for this session was furnished by the Manilo-ettes, who sang A Glad Prayer, and Just For Today, with Warren Kirk soloist, sol-oist, directed by Mrs. Gwen Adams with Mrs. Lucy Haycock accom-anist. accom-anist. Benediction was pronounced by Patriarch David B. Thorne. The 2:30 p.m. session was conducted con-ducted by President Boyd Fugal. Invocation was offered by Elder Vilace Radmall. Speakers included President El-wood El-wood Allen and Ertmann Christen-sen. Christen-sen. They were followed by three recently returned missionaries, Wallace M. Saling Jr., Grove ward; Grant Radmall, and Lynn R. Paulson, both of the fourth ward. The newly sustained stake presidency presi-dency of the Y.W.M.I.A. were called to speak. They were Carol Wells, Wanda Blackhurst, and Myrle Armitstead. Other speakers speak-ers who at the this session addressed address-ed the congregation and bore testimonies testi-monies were Alroy Gillman and Rex Gourley, both of he high council. Again Elder Stover was the concluding speaker. Special music for the afternoon session was provided by the Sixth Ward choir. They sang Come Thou Glorious Day of Promise, and King of Glory. Their director was Mrs. Malcoln Christianson and accompanied accom-panied by Judy West and Doris Crystal. Benediction was pronounced pronoun-ced by Elder Lewis E. Olpin. Congregational singing" for all sessions was led by Chorister Earl A. Beck, accompanied by Rosalie Richards and Hal Haycock, who also played prelude and postlude music. |
