Show Couple To Observe Golden Wedding At Openhouse July 1 will be fifty years since Hans and Ida Christianson Williamson Will-iamson spoke nuptial vows. In honor hon-or of the event they will on Sunday July 5 hold openhouse at their home from 2 until 6 p.m. They will be assisted by their family. All relatives and friends are warmly invited to call. They request re-quest no gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Williamson were married on July 1, 1903, and have spent their entire married life here. Hans was born in Denmerk on May 6. 1S80 to Neils and Mary Simonson Williamson. When Hans was one year old the family came to America, settling first in South Dakota and Later moving to Utah and settling in Pleasant Grove, where the boys worked for many years with their faUier as a blacksmith. black-smith. Later, with his brother Chris, he operated an automotive shop for 40 years. , He is a charter member of the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and at one time served ser-ved as Fire Chief. He was one of the boosters of the first Strawberry Straw-berry celebration and has always supported this activity. Both he and Mrs. Williamson for 25 years worked on the Old Folks committee. commit-tee. Mrs. Williamson was born in Pleasant Grove on July 11, 1882. Her parents were William and Mary Anderson Christianson, who were among the earliest Sc'anda-navial Sc'anda-navial settlers here. She has been very active in church work, primary pri-mary and relief society, and is currently cur-rently serving as a Relief Society visiting teacher in the First ward. They are the parents of seven children, one of whom died in infancy, in-fancy, the other a son, Maynard, less than a year ago. Living children child-ren are: Mrs. Preston (Elnora) Gray, Lehi; Mrs. Ray (Clara) Houtz, Westchester, Pa., Mrs. James A. (Dorothy) Damico, American Am-erican Fork; Stanley and Richard Williamson. They have eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. |
