Show OLDSTERS' ATTITUDE Crankiness in Old Age Linked to Health According to an Ohio state university uni-versity professor, crankiness or a cantankerous state in old age is directly proportionate to poor health. In other words, the professor's profes-sor's situation holds basis for the adage that a man is "only as old as he feels." The professor, Albert R. Chandler, aid his conclusion was the result ct 503 reports by college students and young professional people on the personal traits of older persons they knew well. The subjects of the study, the philosophy teacher said, ranged in age from 50 to over 80. Results were presented at the second sec-ond annual meeting of the gerontological geron-tological society, where Chandler said age itself was no cause for its wearers to be cranky or irritable, the tests showed |
