Show Reception Honors Young Couple Mr. and Mrs. Gene McCandless entertained at a nicely arranged wedding reception on Thursday evening, November 17th, honoring their daughter Dolly June and La-Raine La-Raine Floyd McGee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross McGee of American Fork. The First ward recreation hall, where the lovely affair was held was artistically decorated with large bowls of fall flowers. The bridal couple and their party received rece-ived relatives and friends, before a background of gorgeous pastel colored mums over which lighted candles gleamed brightly. In the lineup were the bride and groom, their parents, Miss LaRue McCan- j dless, maid of honor, Mrs. Chris Hrienson, matron of honor, and other attendants were Mrs. Robert Osstergaard, Miss Myrna Carter, Mrs. Ward Despain, and Mrs. Glen Miller. Russell McGee stood as best man forvhis brother. The lovely bride was charmingly beautiful in white satin cut entrain, en-train, fashioned with tight fitting bodice, long pointed sleeves and high neckline. Her fingertip, lace .trimmed net veil fell from a tiera of seed pearls. She carried a bridal brid-al bouquet of red roses centered with gardenias, and tied with white satin ribbons. The attendants wore lovely pastel pas-tel formals and rained - colored mums. Mrs. McCandless chose a green gown and the grooms mother moth-er wore black. Both pinned gar- denias and roses on their should-es. should-es. Mr. and Mrs. Dwaine McCandless McCand-less and Mrs. Leo Bateman received rece-ived guests at the door, and Miss Colleen McGee handled the guest book. Parel Hanson aud Lloyd McGee Mc-Gee were ushers. James Washburn as master of cermonies cleverly introduced the program numbers. Kent Bateman of Povo played a piano solo, "Indian "Ind-ian Love Call." Warren Kirk accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Kirk sang, "My Wonderful One" and "I Love You Truly." Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, accompanied by Mrs. Gerald Ger-ald Lamy of American Fork sang "Forever and Forever." Miss Pauline Paul-ine McCandless accompanied by Mrs. Warren Kirk, sang "Twenty-Four "Twenty-Four Hours of Sunshine." Robert and Jennie Ostergaard did a humorous skit. Clever toast to the bride was given by Mrs. ! Russell Green and C. W. Despain toasted the grooom. Mrs. Golda Taylor accompanied by Sarah Grow sang "Because" and "As You Are." Dancing completed the evening's entertainment. Arranging the beautiful gift display dis-play were Mrs. Russell McGee, Mrs Richard P. Harris, Alice and Leola McGee. Mrs. Luella Walker, assisted assist-ed by Mrs. Venace Lindsey, Mrs. Lybia Miller and Nealy Miller had charge of refreshments. Guests were served in the Relief Re-lief Society hall, by charming young ladies in becoming formals. They were Myrna McGee, Colleen Fenton, Pauline McCandless, Ila Jean Walker, Norma Winter, Faye Suman and Ranee Bezzant. The poplar young couple were married Wednesday, November 16 the Salt Lake LDS Temple, with President Charles R. Jones, officiating. offici-ating. Witnessing the ceremony were the groom's mother, Mrs. Ross McGee, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Green and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Despain. Following the ceremony the bridal party was met at Hotel Utah by the brides parents and the grooms father and the party-enjoyed party-enjoyed a wedding dinner. The newly weds are at home to friends at 47 P. Street, Salt Lake City. |
