Show Programs Reveal Interesting Facts About P. G. Wards "Our Ward" was the theme of the unique assembly program presented by the Third ward M. I. A. Tuesday evening under the direction of Mrs. Louise Nielson. The purpose of the program was to acquaint younger members of the organization with older people and with the history of the ward. A map showing the homes and important im-portant places in the ward was drawn by S. W. Hilton and shown by Thomas Walker. Interesting facts were revealed by the history of the ward as presented by Mrs. Leone Told. Present ward officials were presented pre-sented to the audience. Other presentations pre-sentations included the oldest man, J. L. Harvey, the oldest woman, Mrs. Adeline Nelson, with short sketches by Mrs. Lucile Walker and Mrs. Leone Told; the largest family, F. C. Shoell 's; the youngest child, belonging belong-ing to Mr. and Mrs. West; the most recently married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Monson; the chapel caretaker, care-taker, Mr. Victor Barney; and the parents of missionaries, Mr. and Mrs. J P Fugal, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hilton. Following the assembly program Mrs. Eva Adams lectured on "The England I Knew" to the Special Interest group. Many members of the First ward were honored at the "Our Ward" program presented by the M. I. A. Tuesday evening under the direction of the M. I. A. presidency with William Hunter presiding. Heads of the various auxiliary organizations or-ganizations were presented with their helpers. Then Joseph Halh-day, Halh-day, the oldest man in the ward and Mrs. William West, the oldest woman, were honored. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Winters were mentioned as the parents of the largest family; Mr and Mrs. Marvin Ralmall had the distinction of being the most recently re-cently married; the baby of Mr. and Mrs Winston Gillies was the youngest young-est child; Bishop and Mrs. Junius A. West were honored as the paren te of the ward's missionary, William West- Rhodin Christiansen, caretaker care-taker of the chapel was also present-ed present-ed Bishop West gave a brief history of the ward, its organization and progress. Norman Stott told of the SoS of beauty in the ward. A solo by Drucilla Loader, accompanied by Mrs. Max Larson completed the program. n |
