Show UTAH EXTENSION OFFICIALS SURVEY FARM PRODUCTION IN FOOD VICTORY PROGRAM Utah agricultural extension service officials this week surveyed sur-veyed progress of the "home food supply for victory" program in the state after county agents in the various districts had started distributions of victory stickers to families participating in the production pro-duction of vegetables, then either milk and butter, eggs and poultry and lean meats and fats are signed by the farmers. Points are awarded for each kind of production and 50 points are needed for the stickers. Of these 50 points, at least 20 must come from production of vegetables, while the other 30 may come from production of commdities in any f the other groups. For the maximum points that may be accumulated from vegetable production, the farmer must agree to produce 415 pounds of fresh vegetables, 94 quarts of canned or frozne vegetables, and 155 pounds of stored vegetables for each adult person in the faily. For the production of 260 quarts of milk and 26 pounds of butter per person, the family is awarded 25 points, while for the 25 points awarded for poultry production, 204' eggs and 20 chickens per person per-son si required. Then, for lean meats and fats, which counts 10 points it is necessary neces-sary to pledge to produce 160 pounds of lean meat and 40 pounds of fat. The pledge cards for the victory campaign were distributed early in the spring by the county agents, while the stickers were forwarded this month to add distinction to families joining the drive. Farmers who are producing the minimum amount of commodities ay enroll in the program by con-1 con-1 tacting the county agent, and tabulating tab-ulating the expected production from the garden and from the other commodities.
