G. , The Pleasant Grove chamber of commerce. is fostering a movement to purchase a resuscitator which will be for general use in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove and the adjacent territory, ter-ritory, according to Eertman Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, club president. The plan already under way calls for the cooperation of all of the civjc clubs of Pleasitnat Grove the schools, business men, local Red Cross, and all citizens who are to donate. The cost of the resuscitator will be approximately $450 and will include four oxygen oxy-gen tanks filled with oxygen and other first aid apparatus. The Emerso resuscitator is an automatic, self-adjusting breathing machine for use in all cases where natural respiration has failed, causing caus-ing asphyxia. It is equally effective in resuscitation of the newborn and in the treatment of respiratory respira-tory failure from shock, anesthy-sis anesthy-sis accident, or post-operative collapse. col-lapse. The chamber of commerce held a meeting Wednesday evening when , the Emercson resuscitator was demonstrated, and a number of representatives from the community com-munity were present. The machine will be placed in charge of Mr. Kemp at the Pleasure Pleas-ure Grove fire station, and. the local firemen will receive training in its operation, and whenever anyone requires its services, the firemen will be called and it will be taken out immediately by the fire chief. The machine will be for the use of the general public when needed, and the chamber of commerce is doing a real service to the community by fostering such a movement. If one life is saved by the investment, then it will pay big dividends in fact the value of a life can't be figured fig-ured in dollars and cents, so if only a life is saved see what a satisfaction will come to the people who have donated for the purchasing pur-chasing of the machine. |
