Show P. G. National Guard Unit Inducted Into Service; To Leave For Coast March 17 The Service Battery of the Second Battalion, 222nd Field Artillery was inducted into service March 3. It will train at the National Guard armory until March 17 when the unit will leave for San Luis Obispo, California, for the year's training. Physical examinations took place Monday under the direction of Captain Cap-tain W. S. Moyes, dental officer, Lieutenant A. Nicola, M. D., and Lieutenant C. T. Johns, M. D., of the Federal Medical board. The men get eight hours of training train-ing which makes them eager for the mess whistle. That "The Army travels on its stomach" still seems to be a true saying. There are at present 71 enlisted men in this service battery unit. The quota is 92. Vacancies will be filled with selected service men at California camp. |
