Wing Mortuary as that of Henry C. Lamb, 19 years of age, of Salt Lake City. The body was identified by Mrs. Arnold Hutchinson of Lakeshore, a sister of the young man. James Barratt or American Fork, who was acquainted with the family fam-ily read the account in Monday's paper of the finding of the body in the lake. Mrs. Hutchinson had been at the Barratt home a few days previous inquiring about the boy, as he had been missing from her home, where he had been living, liv-ing, since last Tuesday. After reading the account in the paper Mr. Barratt and his brother, Sam Barratt, came to Lehi to look over the body. Mr. Barratt stated that he was almost sure the victim was Mr. Lamb. County officers later went to Lakeshore for Mrs. Hutchinson, who verified the Identity of the victim. vic-tim. According to reports, the young man was under the doctor's care and was in ill health at the time. It Is believed that he might have wandered wan-dered about the lake shore since last Tuesday, however, no definite details are known. The young man's body was found Sunday afternoon near the Lehi pumping plant, about one and one-half one-half miles out in the large channel from the plant by James E. Olsen, 35, Elwood Phinney, 12, and Jack Ivie, 13, of Murray, who were in a motor boat fishing. Deputy Sheriff John S. Evans of this city was notified noti-fied and brought the body to the Wing Mortuary here. No Identification Identifi-cation was found on the boy. It is believed the body had been in the water since Thursday night, as Deputy Sheriff Evans was called that night to investigate a report that some one was calling for help In that vicinity. Don Southwick, who was working on the Saratoga road reported hearing hear-ing the calls for help, as did Carl Racker, David I. Gardner and Fred Shelton. Mr. Shelton and Mr. Gardner went out in a motor boat in an effort ef-fort to reach the party calling for help. They report hearing the call several times and stopped their boat a number of times to try and find from whence the call came. They covered the area and were unable to see anyone. Deputy Sheriff Evans was notified noti-fied and he too assisted in the search, however, they could find no one. It is 'believed that the boy stepped into the channel shortly after calling call-ing and was drowned. Just how the man got in the lake presented a mystery to officers offi-cers as he was fully clothed and no boat in which he might have been fishing has been found. A bottle of medicine was the only on-ly thing found in the man's pockets, which also strengthened the identification identi-fication as that of Lamb, as Mrs. Hutchinson said her brother was under the care of a doctor and carried car-ried a bottle of medicine with him. -o |
