Show CITY IN READINESS TO CELEBRATE WITH PRIMARY, RECREATION All is in readiness for the Primary Homecoming and Recreation Festival Festi-val which will be staged today at the city park, with children and adults as well awaiting the festivities. festivi-ties. Objective of the Homecoming and Festival is to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the Primary association, associa-tion, and to demonstrate the Recreation Rec-reation work which has been carried on for the children and young people during the summer. The public is asked to join in the activities of the day. A day's program packed full of entertainment en-tertainment will begin at 3 p. m., when a variety program will be given by the recreation classes. This will consist of clever dances, skits, songs, and readings. Following the program will be races and activities for the Primary boys and girls, and prizes will be given to everyone. A candy shower also will be held. Headline event will be a miniature minia-ture parade, featuring hundreds of children and scores of colorful floats. This will get under way at 6:30 p. m., when the children will start their procession around the cinder track at the athletic field. The parade promises to be one of the most colorful ever staged here. Children with gaily decorated doll carriages, bicycles, tricycles and autos will be in the procession, and there will be fairy tale characters, boys and girls with pets, and many others. Adult groups coming under the recreation program will do their part to provide a full day of entertainment. entertain-ment. The Curvettes, girls' Softball team, will play the American Fork Poultry team at 5 p. m. At 8 p. m. Wasatch-Christensen's and Smith Drug are slated to battle at the soft-ball soft-ball field. Many residents will be interested in seeing the work of the craft classes, class-es, at which many beautiful and useful use-ful articles have been made. An exhibit will be open all day, showing show-ing hammered wood pictures, leather work, woodwork, toys, needle work and other things made by the children. chil-dren. A fish pond also will provide amusement during the day. Every effort is being put forth by the Primary and Recreation workers, to assure the success of the day, and to make it an all-community-affair. They ask the entire city to turn out and help celebrate. |
