L. tomorrow, (Sunday) (Sun-day) evning from S:30 to 9:00 p. m, Two girls' chorus numbers, a violin solo by Lenora Crook-ston Crook-ston male duet by "Tabby" and "Bun" and short announcements of Poultry Day by speakers will make up the program. All persons are requested to tune in at this hour on Sunday evening, June 23, and listen to the special Poultry Day broadcast. Team Standing. Won. Lost. Pci. American Fork 6 2 .S00 Provo 4 4 .500 Tintic 3 4 .42S Heber 1 4 .200 American Fork practically cinched first half honors in the Central Utah league, Thursday, June 20, when they defeated the Provo Timps, 8 to 7, in an eleven inning battle plaj'ed at the Provo lot. Addie Miller, on the mound for American Fork hurled and batted in great style and proved the biggest stumbling block for the Timps. Miller pitched neat ball with the exception of the third innings when Provo collected four hits and two runs. Two errors with three hits gave the Cavemen three runs in the sixth innings, while two more hits and two errors in the eighth gave them two more runs. In the last half of the ninth, Clug Vacher, diminutive outfielder, batting for Petty, drove one over the fence, to tie the score, but American Fork was not to be denied, and, following a hit by Miller and a walk for Holm-stead, Holm-stead, Ingersoll cleaned the sacks with a double. Provo scored a run in the final innings, but Vacher flied out to retire re-tire the side, after Hoover and Nelson had been easy outs. Wednesday's game played at the home grounds with Tintic resulted in an 8 to 7 score, for the visitors after a ten inning rally. The score was tied, 6 to 6, at the end of the ninth innings Eureka scored twice in their half of the tenth frame. American Fork scored one run and had the ty-i. ing and winning runner on the bases, but failed to get them across the plate. Steele pitched a fine game throughout through-out for the winners, as did "Lefty" Mott for American Fork. The game the previous Friday, was an interesting affair, with Addie Miller Mill-er and Frank Jackson hooking up In a genuine pitchers'' battle. The score was 7 to 4, the verdict for the local team. Each hurler allowed only nine hits. Heber errors however, proved disastrous to Jackson. Next Wednesday, June 26, and Poultry Day, Provo will meet the Cavemen on the home lot. |
