Mrs. Frank Foster and children of California, arrived in American Fork Monday for an indefinite visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Miller. Mrs. Foster was formerly Miss Ethel Miller. . Brown, and Milton and John Brown, formed a theatre party last Wednesday evening and motored to Salt Lake City, where they attended attend-ed "The Trial of Mary Dugan" at the Pantages Theatre. Mrs. N. A. Wing entertained at dinner Sun'day for Mr. and Mrs. David Stagg and granddaughter, Betty Jane Lane, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. Wing of Provo. Covers were also laid for the members of the immediate family. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Announcement is made of the engagement en-gagement of M'iss Vida Berg, charming charm-ing daughter of John E. Berg, and Howard Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Peterson of Lehi, the marriage mar-riage to take place in the Salt Lake Temple Thursday, June 27. A reception re-ception is being planned in their honor for Friday evening, June 28. Miss Berg is a popular member of the younger social set, and has a host of friends wishing her future happiness happi-ness and success. She is a graduate of the American Fork high school and of the Quish School of Beauty Culture in Salt Lake City. For the past several months she has been engaged in beauty culture work in connection with the Lamoreaux Barber Shop. Mr. Peterson has a host of friends in both Lehi ' and American Fork, showering congratulations upon him. J. Bird and Mrs. Joseph Walton. Mrs. Leslie Smith entertained Thursday evening in honor of the birthday anniversary of her husband. Late in the evening even-ing a delicious tray luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. X L. Firmage and family returned home Monday from Wisconsin and other eastern points, where they have spent the past two weeks visiting relatives and sightseeing. sightsee-ing. Mrs. Firmage and daughters, Louise arid Edna Fay, spent most of their, time in Chicago, Appleton, Wisconsin, Wis-consin, where she visited her sister, Mrs. Sadie Whitman, in Watertown, Wisconsin, where she visited her brother, Vaness Chipman, and in Bar-boo, Bar-boo, Wisconsin, visiting with another brother, Jim Chipman. Vaness and Jim are both managers of the J. C. Penney stores located in their respective respec-tive cities. Vaness has just moved iuto a wonderful new store recently -.'ected there, and Jim also opened a new Spring store. This is a distinctive dis-tinctive credit for these young men. Both are former residents of this city. Mr. Firmage accompanied by his sons, Harold and Hoag, made a trip to New York City in the meantime, mean-time, where they visited many places of historical interest anfl enjoyed many of the entertainments New York and sourrounding cities are noted for. Among the most outstanding outstand-ing features of their trip was a visit to the Statue of Liberty, a trip through upper and lower New York, a tour through China Town, and a trip to Niagra Falls, both from the Canadian and United States sides. They joined Mrs. Firmage and daughters daugh-ters in Wisconsin and spent the remainder re-mainder of their trip together. While there, the Firmage family had the opportunity op-portunity of going through the Appleton Paper Mill Co., which is one of the largest paper mills in the United States. It is interesting to know that Hoag, Firmage, only 15 years old, has, with the completion of this trip, been across the United States from coast to coast, into Canada both on the Atlantic and Pacific seaboards, and made a trip into Mexico. |
