Apollo Hall and Geneva. j NOTICE It has been requested by the Service Star Legion that the following paragraph from the FLAG CODE be printed in order ord-er that proper reverence may be given our national flag during dur-ing the Poultry Day parade: "When the National colors are passing on parade or in review re-view a man should, if walking, halt, stand at attention, and nncover. A woman should halt, stand at attention, with the right hand placed over the left breast, if sitting, men and women wo-men should rise men standing at attention and women with right hand over the left breast," more are expected to riegister. Girls desiring to enter may do so at the Crookston Barber Shop, Thornton Drug No. 2 or Chipman Millinery. CHICKEN BANQUET The big banquet at 7:00 p. m., for which 300 seats have been reserved, will be of especial interest this year. The toasts to be given will be in keeping with the visiting guestst and the Poutlry Day occasion. C. L. Warnick will preside as toastmaster. Toasts will be made as follows: "Finances," J. W. F. H. S. orchestra under the direction of K. J. Bird. FIREWORKS DISPLAY The biggest night fireworks display ever shown in American Fork will be exhibited at the ball park grounds commencing at 8:30. The order has already arrived and is being constructed. con-structed. Over $300 alone has been expended on this feature. SPECIAL POULTRY SHOW All preparations have been made for the biggest poultry show yet run in connection with Poultry Day. This will be continuous all day and is to be conducted in the New Gymansium. Coops have been placed there this week, and registration will commence com-mence immediately. All local people having birds worthy for competition should enter them, as cash prizes which compare favorably with the State Fair prizes are being offered, as well as ribbons. These honors should remain local if possible. One or more of the committee will be at the gym to receive entires, all of which should be registered not later than next Tuesday, June 25. Special exhibits in fancy breeding stock will be on display from Salt Lake City. Other exhibits will include in-clude entries from as far north as Davis County and as far south as Richfield. A feature of special interest in-terest to American Fork people will bo the egg exhibits, commercial flock entries and farm flock entries. A special prize is beiug offered for the best home-made poultry appliance appli-ance or piece of equipment to be used in a poultry plant. George Turpin of Salt Lake City, a registered judge, will head the list of the judging personnel. two dances-Two dances-Two big dances will conclude the days' festivities, one at the Apollo j and the other at Geneva resort. Everything is set to make Poultry j Day the biggest celebration of the state. Lets see that it is! -n 1 With Poultry Day, the biggest event of the entire year, scheduled or next Wednesday, June 26th, American Am-erican Fork has been taking rapid Etrides to perfect the setting for the peat day's festivities. Banners, loth national and symbolic of the occasion with huge white chickens painted on red and blue backgrounds, lave been draped through main street, which create a -more striking appearance and will lend dignity to He celebration. Following the preliminary activities activit-ies of the day, which consist of day-I day-I light Salutes, flag raising and a band sereade, the feature of the day will take place the mammoth parade v.iiose predicted beauty and noveli-ess noveli-ess nas already reached the far corners of the state. The call will be given at 9:30 a. m., and the lineup line-up will be ready at 10:00 o'clock. The line of march will go east to the end of the pavement, counter march back to Jesse Green's corner, add thence east to the Tabernacle. CHI LID REN'S SPORTS The children's sports and races run as previously scheduled, commencing com-mencing at 2 p. m. at the Cty Hall grounds; . AFTERNOON SPORTS The baseball game scheduled for 3 p. m. wll take place at the Ball Park. This is expected to be one of the most exciting activities of the entire en-tire day"s events. Both Provo and American Fork, who are contenders for the Utah Central League title for the first half, will battle in an official league game. Following the game, a brilliant daylight day-light fire works display will be given, followed by a rodeo, horse races, clown acts, and other interesting oddities. Airplanes will be in attendance at-tendance doing stunt work and machines ma-chines wll also be available for those desiring a ride. BEAUTY CONTEST A beauty show extraordinary will be staged at the Tabernacle grounds commencing at 5:30 The unique feature of this show is predicted to become a popular fad for modern revues. Anyone is eligible to enter this contest. Attractive prizes are being offerd for those winning honors. The outstanding quality of the beauty show is that no set ntyle or mode of dress will be observed, but any style may be depicted, from a housedress to a ballet costume. The entrant may choose from her ward-j robe the bathing suit, Spanish cos-j tume, coloniel dross, street or sport suit, ball room creation or ballet out-tit out-tit best suited to her personality and that which enhances her beauty the most. This way the candidate has a better chance to appear the way ehe and others consider the most attractive. attrac-tive. Not only does it give her a better bet-ter chance to win, but it creates a colorful scene for spectators ad addsi novelty and unusualness to the event.
