Junior High Track anil Field Meet, held at Uneoln Friday, April 10. i.nVerl Nicholes, Kill grade sludcnl, won the Hansen Jiigh Point Hold medal, for taking 4 (ir.il. places, and having the hUhcst number of poinls. In keeping v.'ilh Hie Junior high school movement in Alpine District, Hie American link Junior high has made a (onsislant. effort to maintain il: place among Hie leaders of the various unils. This year, in spite of t he weal her, the meet was most successful, suc-cessful, and was held in connection wilh the Senior high meet. An inl.ere.sHng phase of the meet was Hie girls evenls. Places won in this feature count just as much in the total score as do the boys. In other words, it Is the total score of the boys and girls teams which determines deter-mines the winner. An outstanding feature of the entire day's events was the posture parade of the Junior high school. This is the only District in the slate that conducted a Junior high school competitive posture parade pa-rade this year. As noted -in the above results it will be seen that DeVerl Nicholes was the outstanding performer. The team as a whole wins the Junior High School pennant for the Alpine District. Dis-trict. The Nicholes boy walks off with the gold medal, presented each year by Leo Hansen, ijunior high supervisor, sup-ervisor, to the individual winning the greatest number of points. These presentations were made Friday Fri-day morning, at 9 a. m. in general assembly in the Forbes Building. American Fork Senior high scored 27 points at the Senior meet. Nicholes was the outstanding scorer, taking first place in the high jump and second sec-ond in the pole vault. Chadwick of the same team won the 440.
