Show Forbes Building Boasts" New Trophy Case: Students Contribute The students of the Forbes Building Build-ing have cooperated with the school instructors during this school year, and as a result of their contributions through socials, dances and other mioney making functions, have presented pre-sented the Forbes Building with a beautiful Trophy Case. The case 1b windowed and is 4 x 6 feet in size. At present the displays consist o the 1st place pennant won by the Junior high school boys at the 1928 Alpine District Track and Field Meet, and several ribbons. Within the next week, the collection will be quite numerous, to consist of the 1st place pennant won this year at the Track and Field meet by the Junior high school boys, several ribbons, and a silver cup which is a token of first honors in the Lott Essay contest. The case will also display two unique uni-que papers, one which is Volume I, the first edition of the Desert Newa entitled "Truth And Liberty." This was presented to the' school through the courtesy of Mrs. Myrtle Walton. The other is a copy of the New York: Herald, which gives the announcement announce-ment and' full account of President Abraham Lincoln's death. The townspeople are all invited to visit the Forbes Building and view the various awards won by the Junior high school now .on display in their new Trophy Case. n |
