Library Purchases New Science Books Covering a variety of scientific and practical subjects, a new 16-volume 16-volume set of books, "The Book of Popular Science" has been purchased purchas-ed by the American Fork Public Library and placed on the reference shelves, Mrs. Lyle N. Grant, librarian, librar-ian, announced Monday. The set, published by the Grolier Society, takes up the following subjects: sub-jects: The Universe, The Earth, Life, Plant Life, Animal Life, Man, Health, Power, Commerce, Industry, Society, Household Science and Biographies. It will be of interest both for general reading and for reference work. The appearance of the American Fork Public Library was being improved im-proved this week as workmen went ' ahead on repairs and renovating on the exterior. For the first time since the library li-brary was built, outside repair work is being done. The roof is being repaired, weathered brick work is being fixed, and new front steps will be constructed. The outside woodwork wood-work will be painted, as well as the sign, William Chipman, library board president, announced.
