Show CCC Camp News Last week Captai.n Mayfield decided de-cided to break away from camp and his duties for a day. ana enjoy a visit with our former captain. Beach E. Taber, at Iris camp at Mayfield, Utah. Captain Mayfield took with him some of the leaders who worked with Captain Taber while he was i here, those being, Senior Foreman Edward Wilkins, Supply Sergeant Edwin Mart, Company Clerk Walter Eudcn. and the Officer's Orderly Jos Raring. The trip was enjoyed by all. It is hoped that Captain Taber will visit our camp in the near future. The camp was given its monthly ii:specti:n November 12 by District Inspector Captain Vernon E. Petersen. Peter-sen. Cav-Res.. and the reports show our camp in very fine shape. Captain Cap-tain Peterson complimented the whole camp on the nv.aiy improve- ments and encouraged us to con- tinue our efforts to make this the I bc-t camp in the district. The spike camp at Soapstone will finish their present projects this week and return to the main camp. We will be glad to have the whole company together again. The basketball season is under way and Dr. James H. Wells, as coach, sees the promise of a very fine team. The camp has accepted the invitation to join the "M' Men's league. The educational classes are meeting meet-ing with a good deal of interest. With the return of the Spike camp several new classes will be organized. organ-ized. It is hoped that everyone will take at least one class. On Sunday Captain and Mrs. John D. Trone, Miss Sears from Salt Lake City, and Lieutenant -and Mrs. Dobbin from Company 4793, May-field, May-field, Utah, paid cur camp a visit. After dinner an inspection was made of the company. They all remarked of the fine spirit and courtesy shown by the boys and the cleanilness and order prevalent everywhere. o |
