Show Pleasant Grove Locals Mr. and Mrs. Byron Adamson and baby are in Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Christiansen and daughter, Carol and Mrs. Ole Christiansen were in Salt Lake . Saturday on business -and pleasure. Dinner guests of Bishop and Mrs. Stanley Harris Sunday were, Mr. and Mrs. W. Scott McKay of Salt Lake. Mr. McKay and Bishop Harris Har-ris were missionary companions. i Mr. and Mrs. Claude Burch entertained en-tertained sixty-five relatives of the Burch and Fugal families at a wedding wed-ding recetion Saturday evening at their home in American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Cragun and son, Edmund J.!., and his son were in Fair View Sunday to attend the funeral of Mr. Henry Mower, who is the father of Mrs. E. M. Cragun, who was buried three months ago. The Third ward banquet was very successful Wednesday evening when a turkey dinner was served. Mrs. Reva West Fugal was in charge of the- musical numbers and Prank B. ! Newman was toastmaster. After the program and banquet dancing was enjoyed. The Seventies and Elders were i.n charge of the ban- : quet. Miss Emma Walker will spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her family fam-ily here. Emma is attending school at the A. C. at Logan. There yet remains a few days to get overdue books into the library free. The time is not up until Monday Mon-day evening, November 23rd. Many people are surprised to find books they didn't know were in then-homes. then-homes. The First ward Gleaner Girls enjoyed a "hebo" party after Mutual Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. Rose Radmall. Progressive games and refreshments were enjoyed. Thurs-day. Because of the illness of Mrs Cle-one Cle-one Kirk, the Mothers club has been postponed this week. Mrs. Thelma Shoell Watkins of Carbon county, spent part of the week with her parents here. She also spent a day or two in Salt Lake locating a house. The Watkins family expect to go to Salt Lake to make their home. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hilton at Battle Creek were, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Skinner of Lehi, formerly of Grace, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Asael Dalquist of Provo, Mr. and -Mrs. Scott A. Taylor Lake View, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Allen and children of Provo. A few intimate friends of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Fugal, who were married Friday, attended a tea at the Burch heme in American Fork Sunday,, to see the gifts and visit. Those from i Pleasant Grove who called were, Mr. and Mrs. George Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Max Larsen, Mrs. J. Clarence Hilton, Edna Fugal, Gene Richins, Mrs. William Preston and Edith Preston. Thursday evening relatives and friends of Mrs. Emily Ashton , of Orem, met at her home and pleasantly pleas-antly surprised her in honor of her birthday. Those attending from (this part were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Cullimore, Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Cullimore, Mr. and Mrs. David A. Thome, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Keetch, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin' Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley B. Keetch and Mr. and Mrs. Zelmar Ashton. They took with them a tasty lunch and spent the evening in family chat. Saturday night Mrs. Frank Thorne of Orem, entertained for her husband's hus-band's birthday. Relatives of Mrs. Clarice Newman Smith gave a shower in her honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loren West Monday afternoon. Larserviiene Richins, Ruth Sorenson, Venice Walker, Pearl West and June West. She received many nice gifts. Her marriage occurred oc-curred on November 6th. A great many of our people attended at-tended funeral services at American Ameri-can Fork Tuesday for Mrs. Stephen L. Chipman. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Stanley B. The Manila Home Science club was awarded four gold medals Wednesday Wed-nesday evening by Miss Dorothy Stewart, county home demonstration agent. Erma Atwood won the elec-trolux. elec-trolux. food preparation contest and Helen Warnick the Montgomery Ward medal for the outstanding club girls record. Margaret Wadley received second place in the Kerr Canning contest, but got the medal as the girl holding first place held that place last year and one girl cannot hold first place but one con-secative con-secative year. Afton Pack came third in the Style Dress revue. Helen and Erma won county pins for first places. |
