Show Club Girls and Director Going To Chicago Word has been received by Mrs. Merrill Warnick that herself and club members have been awarded the trip to Chicago for outstanding club work in eleven Western States. Mrs. Warnick and the girls will leave November 27th and expect to be : gone about ten days. Miss Helen ! Warnick had previously wen a trip to Chicago as outstanding member. The girls in this group are Helen Warnick, Erma Atwood. Elaine Pack, 1 Afton Pack, Beth Wadley, Margaret Wadley and Miss Lucy Wadley. who is also assistant leader. Mrs. Warnick War-nick has been a leader for seven j-ears having these girls in her club five years and supervising them two years. She has also supervised other club work. All the girls exhibited and entered en-tered at least one special contest at the county and state fairs. Miss Warnick is trying out for a $503.00 scholarship. All girls were required to make a dress choosing color and design especially suited to their individual J person. Also can 100 quarts of fruit, vegetables or meat for home use. j Their special project is: "We will endeavor to improve our personal appearance and develope our personal per-sonal charm, thereby improving the social standards of ourselves and our community." They also chose and outlined lessons les-sons which were: j 1. Time Study and Record Keep- j ing. j 2. Type and Personality. 3. Selection and Buying. j 4. Construction of Clothing. 5. Tour of Woolen Mills, Depart- ! ment stores, Hotels, etc. 6. Book Review. 7. Demonstration of better canning j methods. I 8. Courtesy, Library Tour, Health, Music, Demonstration on Table Eti- ; quette. In addition to club reports, a story of her work as leader and requirements re-quirements for contest, Mrs. Warnick War-nick has made two scrapbooks, one a review in picture and clippings of i this year's work and the other a his- ! tory of their club activities in club work during the seven years. |
