Show Airplane Makes Forced Landing Near Lehi Three California men, flying from Santa Monica, California, to S'alt Lake City, were brought into Lehi by a sheepherder Tuesday night about 10 o'clock, after they had made a forced landing several miles southwest south-west of here. According to the story told local citizens, the engine in the plane stalled and they were forced down on an emergency landing field about ten miles north of Eureka. They landed their plane just after dark and met a sheepherder by the name of Mr. Webb who gave them supper and then brought them to Lehi. Upon reaching Lehi, one of the men, "Sandy" Spencer, telephoned his wife in Santa Monica, informing inform-ing her of their safety and later called Salt Lake City. As they were off schedule, planes had already al-ready been out searching for them. Mr. Spencer said the engine of the 1 plane "just quit" and they were : forced to make the emergency land- ing. No damage was done to the plane. |
