Show Melissa Shelley was a Salt Lake City visitor Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen R. Steele of Bingham visited Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Steele. Local Items Mr. and Mrs. Lennis Abel of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Webb of Lehi were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth J. Bird on Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Aydelotte and son, Keith, of Manassa, Colorado, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte, stopping here en route to California. Members of the Ashby family enjoyed en-joyed a theatre party and supper in Salt Lake City Thursday (yesterday), (yester-day), the occasion being R. L. Ash-hv's Ash-hv's birthday anniversary. The Misses Eda and Bonna Ashby are spending the Christmas holidays at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Snow of Elmo and Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Anderson of Ogden spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Spratley of this city. Mrs. June S. Wright and Mrs. Nell Binns visited Wednesday in Spring-ville Spring-ville with Mr. and Mrs. Solon A. Woods. Paul Christensen, who has taken a position with the department of agriculture at Safford, Arizona, is enjoying a ten days' vacation at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Christensen. Mrs. H. C. Jensen has extended invitations to 20 friends, for a watch party on New Year's eve. A Dutch lunch will be served and games will be played, to ring out the old yeai and ring in the new. Mrs. Lenora Dowd of Idaho Falls is visiting with her sister and brother-in-law,' Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Christensen. Chris-tensen. Mrs. Dowd and Mr. anc Mrs. Clarence Barker of Salt Lake City were guests at the Christenser home on Christmas day. Mrs. Martin Monson entertained Wednesday evening in honor of Mr and Mrs. George Holman of Reno, Nevada. Members of the "old gang" gathered together, including Mr. and Mrs. Irving Johnson, Swen J. Nielsen; Niel-sen; Mr. Holman's mother, Mrs. Annie An-nie Holman; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Adams, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. War-nick, War-nick, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben War-nick, War-nick, all from Pleasant Grove and Manila; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Chip-man Chip-man of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. George Larsen of Ogden. Mrs. C. J. Goodall and Alva Good-all Good-all were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. McNeill at dinner on Christmas day. May Greenwood spent the Christmas Christ-mas holidays in Pleasant Grove, as a guest of Mrs. Josie Walker. Members of the family of Mr. and I Mrs. Lot Robinson were entertained Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Harrington entertained en-tertained on Christmas day for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Miller and Miss Evelyn Miller, of Salt Lake City. Christmas day guests of Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielsen left Wednesday with Mrs. Carl E. Peterson Peter-son and her son, Carl Don, for Clovis New Mexico. Mrs. Peterson and son have had an extensive visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bates, parents par-ents of Mrs. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen expect to be away about a week. The Contract club held a progressive progres-sive party Wednesday evening. The first course was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Taylor. The club members and their partners then moved on to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sykes, and finished the evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs. James Chadwick, where games were played. Mrs. Kenneth J. Bird entertained at Christmas dinner Monday for her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bradley Brad-ley of Sandy, and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sanderson of Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. George Ford of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Bradley of Sandy, Mildred Peacock of Salt Lake City, Floyd Hammond of Salt Lake City, and Betty Bradley of Sandy. Betty at the Robinson home on Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lee were guests of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Barker f Murray, on Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kirkham of Hollywood, California, spent Christmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hindley. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Dunlap of Haley, Idaho, visited over the holiday holi-day week-end at the home of Mrs. Dunlap's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hallsey. Wayne Binns of Barrington, Illinois, Illi-nois, is spending the holidays here visiting his mother, Mrs. Nell Binns, and other relatives and friends. Mr. Binns is employed in Illinois as a veterinarian, having completed his studies at the Iowa State college at Ames. Max Jones, who is a student at Iowa State college at Ames, is visiting visit-ing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Jones. He expects to leave the first of the year to resume his studies. Mr. and Mrs. John Beck were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kelly of Provo, on Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Shelley entertained enter-tained on Christmas day for Mr. Shelley's sisters, Mrs. June S. Wright and Miss Amy Shelley; Mrs. Shel-I Shel-I ley's mother, Mrs. Marie Smith of Pleasant Grove; and Mr. and Mrs. Glen A. Wright. ( Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Myers for Christmas dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Golden S. Baxter and daughter of Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. Garth Poulsen of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Orson V. Hyre and daughters, Ruth and Agatha, of Lewiston, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson of Delta. A family dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Olsen on Christmas day. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. June Batchelor of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nichols of Riverton, Mr. and Mrs. William Kirkpatrick and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Kirkpatrick of this city, besides the host and hostess. ' Mrs. Alma Earl were LaVon Earl of Logan, Sarah Earl of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Barnes and sons of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. David Conder; and Fern Draper of Provo. . . Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Steele on Christmas day were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton and family of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Max Walton, and Emma G. Anderson and son Malan, of Salt Lake City. The American Legion held a Christmas social at the Legion hall Saturday evening. Dancing was enjoyed en-joyed by 35 couples, with a six-piece orchestra directed by Cecil Ray Hansen furnishing the music. Guy Richards, son of Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Richards, a student at the University of Utah, is spending the holiday vacation at home. Bradley remained at the Bird home, for a visit with Kathryn Bird, during dur-ing the holiday vacation. All children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Irving L. Pratt living in Utah spent Christmas day at the Pratt home here. The group, numbering num-bering 36, included Mr. and Mrs. Weston Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Max Pratt, of this city; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pratt of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. George H. Brown of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Briggs, and Harold, Almeda and Betty Rae Pratt of this city, and the grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Pratt and family of California Cali-fornia were the only ones unable to attend. A most delightful party was enjoyed en-joyed by "That Old Gang of Mine" at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Timpson Tuesday afternoon and evening. The eleven ladies who went through school together, from the first grade, met at 4 p. m. to talk over old times. Their husbands joined them at 7 p. m., for a picnic pic-nic supper. All were reported as happy in knowing the whole "gang" still live. They are Lizzie C. Earl, Laura L. Timpson, May Greenwood, Mae H. Wootton, Olive D. Binnell, Nan T. Wright, Ruby T. Clayson, of American Fork; Emma G. Anderson and Grace M. Barratt of Salt Lake City; Juventa G. Paxman of Provo and Lillie C. Roberts of Lehi. This is the first time all have been together to-gether for 30 years. |
