Show Firmage Hall was the scene of a pretty wedding reception Thursday evening of last week. The reception was given by Mr. and Mrs. George F. Shelley in honor of the marriage of their daughter, Fern, and Marvin Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Allen of Charleston, Char-leston, Utah. The affair was informal. The parents par-ents of the bride and groom, togeth- er with other members of the immediate im-mediate families, assisted in receiving receiv-ing the guests. The bride was charming in an evening gown of shell pink taffeta with a corsage of rosebuds. Bishop Frank G. Shelley was in charge of the program which consisted con-sisted of a vocal duet by Betha Storrs and Mildred Chipman, accompanied ac-companied by Lydia Olsen; reading by Merline Gardner; guitar and vocal vo-cal duets by the Russon sisters; readings by Mary E. Abel; vocal solo by Lola Jean Wagstaff, accompanied by her mother; vocal solo by Thomas Reynolds of Provo, accompanied by Lois Greenwood. A tribute to the bride was given by Ray Merrill, principal of the Pleasant Grove grade schools. Dancing was enjoyed during the evening. Grace Parker, Mildred Anderson, Virginia Shelley and Helen Devey played instrumental music while refreshments re-freshments were being served. The dining room table was covered cover-ed with lace cloth centered with a tiered wedding cake and tall candles. Baskets of flowers were used to decorate throughout the building. Two hundred guests were present. Fannie Shelley was in charge of the gift room, and Edna and Lucy Shelley were in charge of the refreshments. re-freshments. After a trip to Yellowstone national nation-al park, Mr. and Mrs. Allen will be at home to their friends at Charleston. |
