Show Work On Mercur Road Project Gets Underway Work of graveling the 17-mllc stretch on the Lehl to Mercur highway, high-way, known as the Fairfield section, sec-tion, has commenced according to County Commissioner Sylvan W. Clark. The project, which will cost approximately ap-proximately $10,000. will be done Jointly by the state road commission commis-sion and the county but arrangements arrange-ments were completed Thursday to allow the county to do the actunl work. Mr. Clark stated. With the county doing the work, using its regular crew and equli-ment. equli-ment. the saving to the county will be several thousand dollars, Mr. Clark rejiorted. The regular crew and equipment will be supplemented by three or four extra workers and a dragline and bucket for supplying gravel, it Is stated. The road is used considerably by employes of the Mercur mining district dis-trict who live in the northern end of the county as well as by a number num-ber of county concerns who sell materials ma-terials to the mines of that district. Work on construction of a cattle trail up Spanish Fork canyon is expected ex-pected to get underway within the next two weeks. This project like the Fairfield road project, is a part of the county secondary road construction con-struction program for the year. The cattle trail will cost approximately approx-imately $14,000 and the state, national na-tional forest, livestock association and the county are cooperating in this project, it is stated. o |
