Pratt left Monday evening on the Challenger for Los Angeles. .She will make an extended visit in the Coast city with Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Pratt. Floyd Jeff lias been removed home, after three weeks in the L. D. S. hospital at Salt Lake City. Having undergone a serious operation, Floyd is believed to be doing well now. While in the hospital, he received many cheering letters from friends here. i The occasion being her son, Kay's ninth birthday, Mrs. Joseph Walton entertained for ten of his young friends at a birthday party Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week. A lunch, featuring feat-uring a big birthday cake, was serv- j ed, after which the group went to the picture show. Mrs. R. L. Sweeten entertained at a "chat fest" for a group of friends Monday evening. The evening was pleasantly spent in social chat, and a buffet lunch was served. The entertaining en-tertaining rooms were decorated with daffodils and pussy willows. A Valentine motif was employed, the luncheon being in keeping with this theme. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Halliday, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford E. Young, Mr and Mrs. Hans Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Shepherd, Mr. and Mrs. John xieck, and Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Sweeten. Fourteen musicians from American Ameri-can Fork participated in the Lincoln day musical festival at Salt Lake City, Monday night, according to Kenneth J. Bird. The festival was most successful, Mr. Bird reported. "It is one of the most outstanding things ever attempted at-tempted in the state," he declared. Vocalists from the American Fork high school were Ray Howes, Kath-eryn Kath-eryn Bird, Edith Wright, Marie Briggs, Elma tingleton, Eeth Wan-lass, Wan-lass, Armis Ashby, Landrum Kitchen and Ronald Strong. Five American Fork students at the B. Y. U. are members of the symphony orchestra which played: Miss Betha Storrs, Glade Jorgensen, Miss Mildred Anderson, An-derson, George Reimschiissel, and Miss Maxine Taylor. o Mrs. Kenneth J. Bird visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bradley, at Sandy over the week-end. She went Friday, returning Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton and family spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Walton of Salt Lake City. In honor of Kay Walton's Wal-ton's ninth birthday, a party was given in his honor there. Glade Jorgenson of American Fork will play in a trombone trio in the regular assembly period Friday, when the graduate club of Brigham Young university presents a program in the form of a radio broadcast. Mrs. Sherman Robinson and son Gary spent Thursday (yesterday) visiting Mrs. Clifton A. Tolboe of Provo. Friends of Mrs. Ray Shelley surprised sur-prised her with a party Wednesday, the occasion toeing Mrs. Shelley's birthday anniversary. The group brought a lunch, and presented Mrs. Shelley with a gift. The time was pleasantly spent in playing bridge. Attending were Mrs. Leonard Pett, Mrs. Delbert Chipman, Mrs. Roy Steele, Mrs. Luella Greenwood, Mrs. Warren Boley, and Mrs. A. F. Gais-ford. Gais-ford. The Junior Literary club met at the home of Mrs. F. Rulon Nicholes Monday night, with Mrs. O. DeVere Wootton as assisting hostess. Clifford Clif-ford E. Young gave an interesting biography of Abraham Lincoln, j Forty-two were in attendance, each 1 member having invited a guest. 1 A group from American Fork were guests at a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd B. Adamson at Lehi, on Saturday night of last week. A hot supper was served at 8 o'clock, after which games were played. Prizes were won by Mrs. A. F. Gais-ford Gais-ford and Delbert Chipman. Attending Attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Holm-stead, Holm-stead, Mr. and Mrs. Glen L. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Barratt, Dr. and Mrs. C. T. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Chipman, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Gais-ford, Gais-ford, and Dr. and Mrs. Guy S. Richards. Rich-ards. Mrs. Lawrence S. Briggs entertained enter-tained the Sorosis club ladies at her home Friday evening, the occasion being the club birthday anniversary. At 8 o'clock a. delicious dinner was served. The house throughout was decorated in Valentine style. The Frank Parker, who is a student at the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan, spent the week-end at home here. Dr. F. LeGrande Noyes of Hollywood, Holly-wood, California, returned to his home Tuesday after a short visit here with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Noyes and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Street of Lehi are the proud parents of a fine baby girl, born Friday of last week at the Lehi hospital. Mother and baby are doing nicely. Mrs. Street is the ' former Florence Watkins of this city. Mrs. Harvel Bennett entertained the Feality club .at a breakfast, Thursday morning of last week. After the breakfast at 10:30, the club members played bridge, Mrs. Glen Robinson and Mrs. Norman Wing winning high score prizes, and Mrs. Bob Marrott, consolation favor. Mrs. Mary Parker Earl was a. special guest. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jensen and family of Magrath, Alberta, Canada, visited Thursday of last week at the home of Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Richards. The Jensens were en route to California. Cali-fornia. Mrs. Leo G. Meredith, president of the Alpine district P.-T. A. council; accompanied by Mrs. M. L. Baird, American Fork unit president; and Mrs. Aiken, of the state P.-T. A., visited the Lincoln high school association as-sociation meeting Wednesday night of last week. Mrs. Meredith will visit all the units of the district during the coming few weeks. ; menu, tallies, favors and prizes were all in keeping with Valentine's. 1 Five tables of bridge were in progress pro-gress until midnight, when the large club birthday cake was served, together to-gether with huge popcorn balls wrapped in cellophane. Prizes were won by Mrs. Sidney Nicholes Jr., Mrs. Hans Christensen and Mrs. Joseph Walton. Mrs. Briggs was assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Fred Whiting of Salt , Lake City. - Mrs. A. F. Gaisford entertained at ; a birthday party in honor of her , sister, Mrs. LeKoy Davis of Lehi, Thursday evening of last week. Red - carnations were cleverly used as 2 valentines. A lunch was served, and the evening was spent in playing " Chinese checkers. In attendance 2 were Mr. and Mrs. Noel Knight of , Park City, Mr. and Mrs. T. A.
