Show Ten Years Ago j Now j (Taken from files of Oct. 16, 1926) A bill for an ordinance designating designat-ing the state road through American Ameri-can Pork City as a thru highway and requiring vehicles to come to a stop before entering same was taken up for consideration and passed upon up-on by unamious vote by the council members of this city. Another bill for an ordinance authorizing the installation in-stallation of water meters in connection con-nection with the water system and fixing the water rates, was considered consid-ered but the passage of the ordinance ordi-nance was postponed in order that further information might be received re-ceived relative to the rates charged by other cities. A bill for an ordinance ordi-nance making it unlawful to sell fire crackers, fireworks and other explosives of this nature was also discussed but the passage of the bill was postjxmed to a later date. Ten Years Ago Now An analysis of the city water of American Fork shows it to be of good quality. The report indicates the water to be or a sanitary, satisfactory satis-factory quality but suggestions were made that care be taken to avoid any contaminations which might materially change the present good quality. Ten Years Ago Now The company of children from Salt Lake who appeared at the Cameo Theatre Friday nifjht of last week under the auspices of the American Fork Firemen entirely captivated the hearts of the large audience in attendance. There were six in the group and each of the youngsters, all between six and ten years of age, displayed remarkable talent. The Firemen realized a neat sum from the entertainment which commences the Annual Christmas Tree fund. |
